Vote by Mail Information for the November 7, 2023 Town Election

The last day to request a ballot be mailed is October 31, 2023 at 5 pm.

To vote by mail:

  1. Complete a Vote by Mail Application; (Note: you may also send a letter that says you are requesting a VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT, your name, address, where the ballot should be mailed and your live signature. If you do not include the words “Vote by Mail Ballot” your request will be considered for an absentee ballot and subject to those requirements.

Please make sure your application is completed in its entirety.

  • You MUST sign your own application. Unsigned applications cannot be accepted.  We have to have a signature before sending you a ballot.
  • Voters must request their OWN ballot.
  • PLEASE PROVIDE A CONTACT DAYTIME PHONE NUMBER. This will make our job easier in contacting voters from whom we need more information. 
  • If you mail your Vote by Mail Ballot back and it is accepted by the local election office, then your ballot is considered to be cast and you cannot vote again either in person early or on election day.

If any information is missing, we will have to contact you before we can process your application, which will delay receiving your ballot by mail.  This is a new voting process in Massachusetts.  If you have any questions, please contact the Town Clerk's office at 781-961-0901. Thank you!

  1. Deliver your application to us by mail at: Town Clerk's Office, 41 South Main Street, Randolph, MA  02368 (or drop in the silver payment box out front of Town Hall); by email at: clerk@randolph-ma.gov or by fax at: (781) 961-0919
  2. Vote when your ballot arrives;

Voted Ballots must be

  • Sealed in the brown Early Ballot Envelope provided
  • The voter must sign their name next to the “X” on the signature line on the outside of the envelope.

  • Ballots received that are not in the brown envelope or are missing a signature cannot be accepted

Returning Your Voted Ballot

Your ballot can be returned either in person to Town Hall, mailed to Town Hall or placed in the ballot drop box at Town Hall. Ballots that were mailed to you CANNOT be returned to your Polling Location on Election Day!

By the Official Drop Box (in front of Town Hall) or In person to the Clerk’s Office

  • The ballot must be received by 8 pm on November 7th.  
  • Please Note: Ballots received from other communities MUST be returned to the community they were requested from. Randolph cannot accept ballots for any other community.  
  • Ballots received after 8 pm on November 7th, either by the drop box or in person will NOT be accepted, so please plan accordingly.
  • When returning your ballot to the Town Clerk's Office, the white envelope only will be opened to verify the brown inner envelope is present and signed.

By the mail to the Town Clerk's Office (41 South Main Street)

  • The ballot must be received by 8 pm on November 7th.  

PLEASE NOTE: Once a completed vote by mail ballot is received in the Town Clerk's Office, a voter WILL NOT be allowed to vote in person either on Election Day or during In Person Early Voting.
