Director of Community Programs

This position is responsible for leading the Recreation and Elder Affairs Departments in addition to overseeing the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center.

This position works under the direction of the Town Manager in accordance with state laws and regulations. The Director develops and monitors the Elder Affairs General Fund, Recreation Revolving Fund, and Community Center Revolving Fund Budgets; coordinates major community events including the Night Before the 4th Parade, Harvest Hoopla, Winterfest, and Senior Olympics; develops and implements marketing strategies for all community programs; oversees the Randolph Community Pool, Zapustas Ice Arena, Randolph Intergenerational Community Center, Powers Farm, Imagination Station Playground, and Summer Recreation Programs; coordinates all programs and events at Powers Farm, the Randolph Community Pool, and summer camps; meets regularly with the Community Center Director and Staff to ensure continued operations and attends or delegates attendance to relevant community engagement meetings throughout the Town.

The Director Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field; five to seven years  management in public recreation, elder services, or closely related field; One to two years’ experience working in a community recreation facility desired but not required; experience managing large scale events/programs in a community setting and ability to multitask, and provide courteous customer service to the public

Salary range 74,903-98,565 plus benefits.

Superintendent of Public Works

Town of Randolph seeks full time Superintendent of Public Works. The Superintendent, under the direction of the Town Manager, oversees the operation of the Highway, Water, Sewer, and Engineering Divisions of the Randolph Public Works Department.  The Superintendent is also responsible to oversee the Town’s interests in the water treatment plant and the associated reservoirs and water supply.  The Superintendent will be responsible for oversight of the Town’s stormwater management efforts under MS4. The position requires the exercise of considerable judgment in the planning and operation of the department.

The position directly oversees the daily operation of 23 employees (currently).  The superintendent implements and oversees the daily direction of the tasks of the employees of the department; including the three members of the office staff and the Town Engineer.  The position takes direction from and is supervised by the Town Manager.

The position requires significant administrative capabilities to manage the payroll, accounts payable, water billing, and other correspondence associated with a top department head position.  Combined budget oversight is in excess of $10 million; to include water and sewer funds. Position requires strong supervisory skills in dealing with personnel matters and appropriately creating and implementing budgets. Position oversees a wide variety of independent contractors hired to work on behalf of the Town, including for snow and ice operations and street paving/improvement projects. Position would require strong technology literacy as the department moves toward technology-based operations.

Requirements: Position requires at least 10 years of supervisory experience in construction, engineering, or municipal/state public works operations.  Experience in water treatment plant operations is preferred.  Stormwater management experience a plus.  Town encourages professional engineers to apply.  Successful applicant will have direct experience with snow plowing operations.  A motor vehicle driver’s license is required.

Salary range: $87,897-$115,665
