REPORT OF THE
BOARD OF RECREATION
The Board of Recreation’s responsibilities are to oversee the complete operation of the Recreation Department. These responsibilities include: administering adult and children’s programs, educational and athletic activities, trips and tours, as well as to ensure a safe and creative environment for all participants. In addition, our responsibilities include the operation and management of the Joseph J. Zapustas Ice Arena, Randolph Community Pool, Imagination Station Playground, and The Randolph Theater Company along with other recreational facilities in the Town of Randolph.
Throughout 2007, the Board of Recreation has provided the following: February and April School Vacation programs for grades K–6, a Summer Recreation Program, Youth Basketball League for boys and girls, children and adult trips and tours, The Randolph Country Fair, Theater productions, Women’s volleyball, violin lessons, Halloween Extravaganza and to end the year the “Holiday on Ice” Ice Skating Jubilee.
As changes took place within the department, I would like to commend the Board of Recreation for doing a fine job volunteering their time by managing the department and providing recreational activities for all to enjoy. The Board of Recreation would like to thank our Recreation Staff including our seasonal employees for a job well done. To our Theater Company led by Connie Clinton and Sandra Howley on providing Randolph with a theatrical experience for all and to the many volunteers who went the extra mile to help make our department a success. To our Secretary, Loretta Dailey and Board member, Juan Carlos Serna, both of whom will be truly missed. The Board would like to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication serving our Board of Recreation.
A special thanks and appreciation to all of our town departments and boards who were always there to assist us no matter what we needed, the Town of Randolph for supporting us throughout the year; and the “Townspeople” who came forth providing us with continuous support.
Respectfully Submitted,
